Dysphagia (induced by a speech phase)

Thought phasing is a by-product of the mirror effect in the speech phase, it can induce an unintelligible garble from those effected whereby words and sentences are 'out of phase'

Trapped in a kind of synodic cycle of confusion initially only 'the viewer' would notice the effects, those affected would have no-idea, making it a rather embarrassing affliction. Its also known as Bulber Neurosis. Dyspahgia (the inabiltity to swallow) is believed to be a latter stage symptom.
